Terms of service
Last updated: November 2026
These terms apply when you sign up for and use ClearLeeCars. Please read them; by creating an account you agree to them. They're written to be plain and fair. If anything is unclear, email support@clearleecars.co.uk.
1. Who we are
ClearLeeCars is an online platform for independent UK car dealers. It is run by Lee ("we", "us"). You can contact us at support@clearleecars.co.uk.
2. Who can use ClearLeeCars
ClearLeeCars is for businesses that buy and sell vehicles. You must be 18 or over and have the authority to accept these terms for your business. "You" means the dealer business that holds the account, including the people you let use it.
3. Early access and free trials
- ClearLeeCars is in early access. Features may change, be added or be removed as we develop it, and there may be occasional bugs or downtime. We'll do our best to keep it running smoothly, but we can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free.
- New accounts start with a free trial, currently 2 months. You won't be charged anything unless you separately agree to a paid plan. Tell us what you'd like to see through Send feedback in your admin; it helps decide what we build.
- If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you the price and what's included in advance, and it will be your choice whether to continue.
4. Your account and security
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password, passkeys, authenticator app and recovery codes safe. Every sign-in needs a second step as well as your password; don't share your sign-in with anyone.
- You're responsible for what happens in your account, including the actions of anyone you let use it. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it.
5. Your listings and website content
- You're responsible for everything you put on ClearLeeCars: vehicle details, prices, photos, descriptions, website pages and replies to customers. Make sure your listings are accurate and not misleading, and that you have the right to use any photos and text you upload.
- You're responsible for following the laws that apply to selling vehicles and advertising them, including consumer protection law. If you mention finance, you're responsible for having any authorisation that requires.
- Vehicle details, MOT information, road tax and valuations from registration look-ups come from third-party data and are estimates; check them before relying on them or showing them to customers.
- You decide which customer reviews to publish. Only publish genuine reviews.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use ClearLeeCars to break the law, to publish anything misleading, offensive, defamatory or that infringes someone else's rights, to send spam, or to interfere with the platform (for example by trying to get into other accounts, overloading it, or copying content from it in bulk). We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks this section.
7. Who owns what
- Your listings, photos and website content stay yours. You give us permission to store, copy, display and adapt them (for example, resizing photos) as needed to run ClearLeeCars: on your website, on the ClearLeeCars marketplace and in search results. This permission ends when the content is deleted.
- ClearLeeCars itself (the software, design and branding) belongs to us. You can use it while you have an account, but not copy or resell it.
8. Your website address and domain
Your website is available at yourname.clearleecars.co.uk. If you connect your own domain, you remain responsible for registering and renewing it and for its DNS settings. We provide the security certificate for it automatically while it points to ClearLeeCars.
9. Your customers' personal information
When your customers send enquiries, book viewings or leave reviews through your website, you are the data controller of that information and we process it on your behalf, as your data processor. Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR, Article 28), we agree that we will:
- process it only to provide ClearLeeCars to you and on your documented instructions (these terms and how you use the platform), unless the law requires otherwise;
- make sure anyone who can access it is bound to keep it confidential;
- keep it secure with appropriate technical and organisational measures (encrypted connections, restricted access, separated accounts, security updates and backups);
- use only the sub-processors listed in our privacy notice (currently Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for hosting, database and email, in the UK), on terms that protect the information in the same way, and tell you before adding or replacing one so you can object;
- not transfer it outside the UK without appropriate safeguards;
- help you respond to requests from people exercising their data protection rights, and with your own security and compliance obligations, where we reasonably can;
- tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a personal data breach affecting it;
- delete it when your account ends (see section 10), apart from short-lived backups that are deleted within 14 days; and
- give you the information you reasonably need to show these obligations are met.
You're responsible for having a lawful basis for the information you collect and for telling your customers about it. Each dealer website includes a privacy notice, filled in with your business details, for this purpose. Our own use of personal information is explained in our privacy notice.
10. Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time from Account Info in your admin. This deletes the account and everything in it straight away (backups are deleted within 14 days). If you'd like a copy of your stock details first, email us.
- If a free trial ends and you don't continue, we delete the account and its data within 3 months of the trial ending.
- We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where it's reasonable, we'll warn you first and give you the chance to put things right.
- If we decide to stop running ClearLeeCars, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email.
11. Our responsibility to you
- While ClearLeeCars is in early access and free, it is provided "as is". We aren't responsible for loss of profit, sales, business or goodwill, or for indirect losses, arising from your use of it or from it being unavailable.
- Keep your own records of anything important to your business (for example sales and costs). We keep backups, but we can't guarantee data will never be lost.
- Our total liability to you in any year is limited to the greater of £100 and the amount you have paid us in the previous 12 months.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as ClearLeeCars develops. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or in your admin at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using ClearLeeCars after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
13. General
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
- If you have a problem, please email us first; most things can be sorted out quickly.
